Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say initial examinations indicate the substance was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism made him speechless and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
