Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults come after nights of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
